Statement from the Right Rev Alister Bell, Moderator of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland, on the Passing of His Holiness Pope Francis

 

It is with deep sorrow that we receive the news of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. On behalf of the Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland, I offer our heartfelt condolences to the Roman Catholic community worldwide.

 

Pope Francis was a man of deep faith and humility, whose life spoke of compassion, justice, and the love of Christ. His witness to mercy and peace transcended borders, and his commitment to the poor and the marginalised touched hearts across the globe.

We give thanks to God for his life and ministry.

 

May his legacy encourage us to walk more gently with one another and live out the values of love and reconciliation.
