The history of Presbyterianism in Ireland can be traced back to 1613. The first Non-Subscribing Presbytery was formed in 1725 and our most notable historical leader, Dr. Henry Montgomery (pictured left), took a leading part in the controversy in the 1820's that led to the formation of the Non-Subscribing Remonstrant Synod of Ulster. Our Church refuses to impose compulsory subscription to any man-made creeds in respect of a person's Christian faith. Our ethos is 'faith guided by reason and conscience' and we advocate liberal and tolerant Christianity.

The Christian Ministries Committee of the NSPCI is organising the Annual Conference for ministers which is scheduled to take place in the McCleery Hall, Dunmurry of the First Presbyterian Church (Non-Subscribing) on Tuesday 24 April 2018. As always, this annual Conference provides an opportunity to strengthen networks and renew friendships as well as exploring a theme of relevance to ministry. This year’s theme is:

The Changing Face of the Church: challenges for ministry’.

The Conference is open to ministers, licentiates and ministry students within the denomination, and to interested lay members of our congregations. However, places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The Conference is hosted by our Moderator, Rt Rev Colin Campbell. Lunch will be included and there is no charge for attending.

If you would like to take part, please leave your name with Rev Linda Ballard, Hon. Sec. of the CMC, as soon as possible by email.
